JESSICA'S FEEDBACK

After completing my ancillary tasks: a movie magazine cover and a poster, i asked the target audience for specific feedback on our products.

Q1-Do you think the products are typical of magazines and posters? If so in what ways is it similar?

-The two products are typical of real posters/magazines due them having the same colour scheme, title font and similar images throughout the two. Also reflecting the genre from which you can tell is horror.

-The magazine is typical of a magazine as from it appearance, seems to stick to the rules and conventions of a real magazine colour. Along with sticking with a layout of an actual movie magazine.

-The two images used on the products make them typical of real magazine and posters because they're very similar and are reflecting both the same thing. As well as being snap shots from the actual trailer.

Q2-Does anything make it different or does it stand out from the typical? How?

- I personally dont think there is much different from your everyday magazines or posters. With you sticking the typical ways has made them more effective as well by pleasing the audience with sticking to the familiar.

-No i dont think much is different which it shouldn't be because otherwise it wouldn't be recogniseable to the audience therefore it wouldn't be doing its purpose properly by advertising the film.
-There isn't much different as both products include the conventions of a typical magazine or poster.

Q3-Does it work? Why?

-The ancillary products do work well with them matching each other's style and appearance, in a way. Creating a link between the two and therefor able to make the audience know that they're linked.

- The products certainly work well giving all direct and correct information to the audience. All of what they need to know about the film.

-The layout, images chosen, mise en scene within the images, colour scheme and font selection all make the products work. Informing the audience of the genre as well as creating enigma's for them wondering what the film could be about.

Q4-Name two impressive/interesting elements from the ancillary tasks?

-By using a template of an actual movie magazine is very impressive aking it more realistic. It also helps for the magazine to stand out because as an audience we would be familiar to that particular magazine.

-The effects used on the title 'DISTURBED' and the 'COMING SOON' are really effective they relate well to the genre of the film.

-You can tell the images have been edited with numerous effects to create the look they have relating to the horror genre. This is really impressive and makes the image really catch the audiences eye.

Q5-Could these products be stronger? If so how?

-I personally feel the magazine could include a bit more on the film as it is in the front cover and thats its main feature.

- Both images in the two products could have had more effects added just to make them little more suitable to the horroe genre, although they do look really effective as they are.

-I cant actually think of anything on how it could be stronger, i think the products are great.

To Conclude
From all the audience feedback i have received i can tell that the poster probably was the strongest of the products from the two because the magazine could have included more detail about the actual film content itself. Although both products are really effective and portray what they need to to the audience. Overall, im pleased with the feedback i have received.
