Unfortunately we have a member of our group who has left college, Mike. We are obviously carrying on without him as there isn't much left to do. All his work he's done on the editing and posts on the blog will be kept.

Font Idea's
Here are a few font idea's we have gathered so far.....
We have decided to use the Ghastly Panic font as we think its really dramatic, as it looks almost as if someone has scratched it on. This effect goes well with our supernatural horror teaser trailer.

ancilary task..
As well as our filming we are also producing a poster for our film and a cover for EMPIRE film magazine. In order to do this in a short period of time we are going to split both tasks within the group.

Feedback
Blog is not looking too bad. Can you make it clear in a post, how you are splitting up the ancillary tasks?
As well as working on these tasks, you also need to keep working on editing the video, remembering that you need to do more to it than you would have done last year. May be worth asking about LiveText (LiveType?) for the captions - It works with Final Cut and may give you some more options with the captions etc. Obviously, the text font you use for the film title in the posters etc needs to be the same as the font at the end of your trailer....

magazine cover..
- We have been looking at the film magazine 'EMPIRE' and have decided to use this magazine company for our cover. Here is an example of the magazine we have looked at to get ideas for our own.

We like this image for a magazine cover as it is simple and shows some form of corruption as the black background connotates evil and emptiness whereas his stern facial expression shows to the audience what the character is like. The shadow on the right of the actors face also reflects back to the connotation of emptiness and evil. We intend to use a shadow on our image as we think that this would connotate to our audience that the women has two sides to her.
- This is an image we have captured as a rough idea to which we are going to base our magazine cover main image. We have rearranged the lighting to make the left side of the face have more of a shadow than the right. After a few attempts at this we thought that choosing a gold reflector, will help highlight the right side of the face so the left side looks more shadowed. As this is a rough copy, this is far from the standard we expect our final image to be like.
- As we intend to use EMPIRE magazine we have to make it look professional and so we also are going to use tho correct font that EMPIRE use. Here is an example of the logo.
In order to use the exact font for our title, Louis has used Photoshop and traced the example above. Here is the practise below;
i did this my using the program adobe indesign cs3. and i used the example above to create the version below by cutting out all of the letters single handedly. then colouring them appropriately. and then grouping them all together. this isn't the final version but it is close. its just needs a few finishing touches.
- As we intend to use EMPIRE magazine, it is important we stick to the layout that they use on most of their covers. We have stuck to the price the actual magazine is and the layout of the captions introducing what is inside. The slogan for EMPIRE magazine is; The UK's No.1 Movie Magazine this the the slogan we will use on our cover. We have decided to do this as we believe that audiences always stick to the familiar and so they would choose our magazine knowing it will just be the same as many other EMPIRE film magazines.

research and ideas for poster
We saw this poster of this horror film and we have chosen to use this of a sort of example in which we are trying to achieve. The main reason it caught our eye is because of which colours are used and the idea it portrays to us an an audience along with the enigma's it creates. The colours black, white and red are very powerful and stand out: black connotes death, white connotes purity and innocence and red connotes blood and evil. All these are what we are wanting to display through our trailer, magazine cover and poster.

This image uses the same colour scheme as the poster above and connotes the same ideas, which is one of the idea's we really want to use. The point of this poster which we really like is the fact the eyes are the main focal point of the poster. Also how only half the face is visible and with the rest of the background just being black. We are wanting to make the eyes in our poster one of the main focal points by either making them stand out being big and bold like this poster or making the pupils bright red and also making them big, attracting the audiences to the eyes making them concentrating on the poster and hopefully will straight away give them the idea of what genre it is and get them wanting to watch it so the film can answer all the enigma's they have created from seeing the poster.
So far we have to full idea's. But we have decided to take pictures of both and play with them to get what we wanted and see which we feel will be more successful.

ancilary task
We are currently thinking of ideas and researching images for our poster to advertise our film, Disturbed. So far we have collected a couple images which stand out to us and are thinking of ways we could pinch their ideas but adapt them to make them our own.

| Image of the film '30 Days of Night' |
This is another we have found, '30 Days of Nights.' We like this one as its bold and its in your face, straight to point of something not being quite right. Our own idea of this was to have an image of our possessed women as an extreme close-up with her covered in blood and try using effects to distort her face and again use the idea of the images colour grading, making the blood stand out with full colour.

So far..
Now we have finished all our filming we are currently in the process of editing all of our footage in the order of what is shown on our story board. We have made some changes in which will will discuss in our evaluation. So far we have imported the footage onto final cut express and cut each scene down to what we need. We have begun putting it onto the time line and have added our first caption. We have also imported our music which we believe relates to the supernatural genre of our teaser trailer, creating tension throughout. We have not yet added effects to our footage but this will be our next task.
